Despite the predicted rain (which didn’t show up until the event was over – yeah!), we had a GREAT turn out of participants who came to join in on the festivities at Paws in the Park on Sunday. In fact, the Escondido Humane Society was able to raise $110,000 for animals in need, the most in the event’s 13-year history! To kick start the event, the official Spokespet, Bogey, made his grand entrance, red carpet and all. On stage, emcees Heather Myers from San Diego 6 and Sam Bass from KyXy 96.5 welcomed the crowd. In an effort to get the crowd warmed up, Tamilee Webb of “Buns of Steel” got them moving to some hip tunes. Bogey then led the 2.5 mile walk around scenic Kit Carson Park. After which, participants visited vendor booths to learn more about pet-related businesses and shop. Other fun activities included the Costume Contest, Wet T-Shirt Contest, Prize Raffle, and my favorite part…the super duper doggie wash! Jennifer White and Mike O’Brien from Sophie 103.7 were also there to liven things up. White even ended up adopting a dog! Needless to say, the event was a HUGE success. Thanks to everyone who came and showed their support. And a special thanks to those who checked out MY booth (which I totally forgot to take a picture of because I was too excited about photographing everything else going on – although I did take an Instagram photo…check it out at the end of the post!). Also, if you don’t see your dog here, be sure to visit the Proofs site where you can view more photos and PURCHASE PRINTS.

And let’s not forget the Instagram of my booth…
